What is braver than being who you really are?  

‘What is braver than being who you really are?’  is a tufted wall tapestry. The work translates personal childhood memories and social observations into a colourful, graphic composition in which moments such as a first period, a smoking grandmother, snorkelling with her father, and secondary school experiences come together. The tapestry reflects on identity, feminism, growing up with immigrant parents, and the courage to be oneself. It combines a playful visual language with symbolism, including the motif of the ‘flying uterus’. 

The work was shown during the ‘NOW SHOW’, the graduation exhibition of St Joost, from 3 to 6 July 2025 in Breda.
