Woven Voxel
The project ‘WOVEN VOXEL’ by Emilie Palle Holm consists of two impressive Jacquard‑woven sculptures. In the work, Holm breaks through the flat, two‑dimensional limitation of weaving by stretching the pixels into the third dimension. She releases certain warp threads and incorporates movable elements directly into the weave, allowing the structures to form tangible, spatial sculptures.
The pieces are woven with cotton and polyester yarns and were shown at the Danish Biennale for ‘Craft & Design 2025 at Glas – Museum of Glass Art in Ebeltoft’, Denmark, from 9 October 2025 to 22 February 2026. The project was nominated for the Biennale Award 2025, with the jury praising it for its original interplay of digital possibilities and traditional craftsmanship. ‘WOVEN VOXEL’ builds on earlier work that Holm made in the TextielLab; you can read more about that here.
