Eugène van Veldhoven
Designer Eugène van Veldhoven works throughout the year on projects developed as prototypes. These prototypes travel in a suitcase to trade fairs and to visits with weaving mills, knitters, printers, wallpaper manufacturers and interior brands across Western Europe, Japan and the United States.
Van Veldhoven experiments with a wide range of techniques, including relief embroidery over plant-based foam layers, cording, needle punching, screen printing, flock printing, 3D printing of rubbers, coating, ultrasonic quilting and foil stamping. For this series, Van Veldhoven explored the embroidery technique, developing samples with spatial effects and rich textures.
