Between the Folds

Maroesjka Lavigne developed ‘Between the Folds’, a woven wall hanging that explores the mutability of landscapes and memories. Landscapes are never static: light, form, and colour are constantly changing, and what we perceive is essentially our memory of a place. Just as landscapes blur and transform, memories are fluid and subjective, often a fusion of reality and recollection. 

In her work, Lavigne combines photography with textile techniques such as weaving, unraveling, folding, and printing to visualise this subjectivity. This approach allows multiple interpretations of a single moment to emerge. 

‘Between the Folds’ was exhibited at the KASK Graduation Show in June 2025.
