Sensory Threads 

Marije van de Voort developed ‘Sensory Threads’, a dress that is part of her graduation collection and offers a sensory experience where fashion and environment merge. The work invites exploration of textiles through touch, movement, and personal interaction, emphasising the importance of tactility as a counterbalance to the digital world. The dress was made on a computer-controlled flat knitting machine, using mohair and elastic yarns to support both shape and flexibility. Baleen (reinforcement pieces) was added to create a rounded, sculptural circle. 

‘Sensory Threads’ was shown during the AMFI Fashion Show in February 2025 and featured in L’importent Magazine.
