Soft Waiting Room

Soft Waiting Room’ by Sam van Dok is a Jacquard-woven wall hanging. The work transforms the often cold and neutral atmosphere of a waiting room by adding warmth, texture, and small moments of discovery. The tapestry collage features illustrations of plants, medical practices, and human interactions, with hidden details and subtle visual “easter eggs” that invite viewers to slow down, observe, and wonder. Based on Van Dok’s own drawings, the design clearly reflects her personal style and encourages a soft, tactile experience.

The two works developed by Sam van Dok were acquired by the Elisabeth Hospital in Tilburg and will be on permanent display there. The work was also shown at the Design Academy Eindhoven Graduation Show 2025 during Dutch Design Week from 18 to 26 October 2025.
