CaccHho CucchhA

Mercedes Azpilicueta has been developing wall hangings at the TextielLab on a regular basis since 2019. For ‘CaccHho CucchhA’, created for de Appel in Amsterdam, she designed a large interactive wall hanging featuring loose threads, openings, pockets and handles, allowing children to playfully manipulate the composition. Azpilicueta assembled five individual wall hangings into a single large-scale work. The piece has a playful character, with particular attention given to safety and durability in the elements designed to be cut open.

The work was exhibited from 13 September to 23 November 2025 as part of ‘CaccHho CucchhA’, a scenographic exhibition for children aged four to twelve, and was accompanied by interactive play workshops and a symposium on art and play.
